Our manual and automatic car park barriers

    • Automatic Car Park Barriers
    • Height Restriction Barriers
    • Horizontal Swing Barriers
    • Manual Car Park Barriers

Automatic traffic barriers remove the need for manual operation by staff or visitors, helping you reduce staffing costs and make your site more easily accessible. Our automatic barriers are ideal for sites with greater traffic flow (such as busy commercial car parks or busy warehouse loading bays) that still need a robust physical security measure to prevent unauthorised access.

Here at Expert Security UK, our automatic car park barriers feature a vertical lifting boom with a maximum length of 7.0 metres (plain pole only), 6.0 metres (with bottom skirt) or 5.0 metres (with hi-bar). The boom uses a 3-phase motor and worm gearbox to operate, helping it reach an adjustable speed of 2–7 seconds for maximum efficiency and access control.

In addition, our automatic barriers can be built with a variety of advanced access control systems to improve the monitoring of staff and visitors while maintaining ease of access for authorised persons. These include keypads, GSM intercoms, proximity cards and ANPR systems (automatic number plate recognition).

If you specifically need to restrict the access of large vehicles to your premises, such as very tall lorries, height restriction barriers are the ideal solution. These steel barriers can be adjusted to suit the individual needs of your site, so whether you need to restrict entry to a small outdoor car park or an underground parking area, you can tailor your car park barriers to make sure both narrow channels and wide entrances are catered for.

Our height restriction barriers offer a low-cost, low-maintenance solution for sites that can’t accommodate larger vehicles but don’t want to disrupt the flow of authorised traffic. These barriers will prevent obstructions at the entrance to your car park and therefore improve overall efficiency.

    Specifications

    • Steel-constructed height restriction barrier
    • Construction – Standard: Gates – 60 x 60 x 3mm/Posts 100 x 100 x 100mm

    • Available span : 2.0–6.0 metres (single leaf), 12 metres (double leaf)
    • Installation: Posts may be either sunken or surface-mounted

Whilst automatic barriers are extremely secure and efficient, they aren’t always the most cost-effective solution – especially for sites with lower security requirements. In addition, if your site experiences less traffic, manual barriers such as horizontal swing barriers can help you save money whilst still maintaining sufficient access control.

Our horizontal swing barriers are perfect for sites with entrances that better suit a horizontal barrier mechanism. Even sites with very wide entrances can be catered for here at Expert Security UK, thanks to our single and double-leaf barrier models.

These manual barriers feature a simple mechanism that’s extremely easy to use, which means you can ensure the security of your site whilst still allowing easy access for authorised visitors. Plus, with no electrical components involved, car park barrier installation and maintenance are both very simple and cost-effective.

Save on both running costs and staffing costs with our low-maintenance manual security barriers. Whilst automatic barriers can be fitted with advanced access control tools for busy sites, manual barriers are a great cost-effective solution for less busy or smaller sites, featuring zinc-coated elements for extra durability.

Why should you install security barriers on your premises?

    1. Prevent unauthorised access

Car park barriers prevent the general public from using your private commercial or industrial car park, guaranteeing more space and availability for authorised visitors, staff and customers. This will ensure that all staff arrive on time and business operations run more efficiently.

    2. Enhance security

If you have expensive equipment, machinery or products on your industrial or commercial premises, car park security barriers will provide an additional layer of security around the perimeter of the property. As a highly visual security measure, car park barriers will not only deter thieves but will also help staff, customers and visitors feel safer on the premises.

    3. Restrict traffic

By installing traffic barriers on your site, you can prevent unauthorised vehicles from using your property as a shortcut to their destination. This will reduce traffic on the premises and therefore improve efficiency and reduce the risk of potential traffic accidents.

    4. Improve access control and monitoring

By controlling who can access your site and when, these security barriers will make it easier for you to monitor staff attendance and punctuality. In addition, if you send and/or receive a lot of deliveries, you can more easily monitor the flow of goods on the premises, improving operational efficiency and product tracking.

    5. Prevent overflow and crowding

Traffic barriers prevent car park overflow and crowding, improving the efficiency and external appearance of your business. In addition, by preventing crowding, car park barriers will make it easier for staff to evacuate or emergency vehicles to access the site in the event of an emergency.

    6. Mark the perimeter of your site

If you’ve previously had issues with trespassing and unauthorised access, security barriers and traffic barriers can clearly delineate the perimeter of your property.
