Cantilever sliding gates installed

To secure the perimeter fencing of Eric Wright Civil Engineering’s Recycling Centre in Todmorden, protecting staff while not compromising on the efficiency of business, Expert Security designed a bespoke system to fit their requirements, including cantilever sliding gates.

In many cases a business such as this would be suited to traditional tracked sliding gates, which provide protection from vehicles and pedestrians. However due to the size of the entrance area, together with the sloping ground to the side of the entrance, the different approach of cantilever sliding gates was needed.

Additionally it was felt that the use of cantilever sliding gates would be beneficial for when times when it is necessary for the gate system to cope with muddy terrain, which can be problematic with traditional tracked sliding gates.

Sloping ground makes the use of traditional tracked sliding gates limited, as installing the track for the gate to run on becomes very difficult. Ultimately our design team agreed that a Tandem Cantilever Sliding Gate System would be installed, covering a total of 14m to allow the full use of the entrance.

All Expert Security’s automatic sliding gates can be integrated into new or existing security or control systems. Each automatic sliding gate uses a superior integrated control panel and encoder which allows for a faster, smoother direct drive action, more sophisticated than other competing models. Our team ensured that the staff at the Recycling Centre can safely open the gates to allow HGV Access and waste collection, with their pre-programmed radio remotes.

Every automatic sliding gate we supply, including our cantilever sliding gates, is manufactured using a RHS steel frame and CHS tubular steel infills. A wide range of alternate infills are available to suit individual requirements and to match adjoining fencing design. In this instance, the cantilever sliding gates matched up to the existing perimeter fencing, and were powder coated green.
